Tentmakers

PROJECT SCOPE

Brand MDNA and Strategy | Visual Identity | Website | Banners | Social Media | Business Cards

OVERVIEW

After 30 years of providing Christ-centered leadership training, Tentmakers needed help integrating their somewhat scattered brand. They also wanted to better explain their work to an expanding audience.

We developed a strategy to create a differentiated brand that was consistent and aligned across the organization. We started by interviewing internal staff, board members, alumni and donors. A powerful theme of “Life on a mission” emerged. While Tentmakers initially viewed work, worship and ministry as separate entities, we helped them bring these together as one cohesive element. We used this unified idea to create new messaging and a fresh web presence.

RESULTS

As a result of our work, Tentmakers now has a better way to communicate their value with all stakeholders—including program participants, donors, internal staff and their board. They have seen an increase in program delivery and a boost in financial support. They also notice their staff has more unity of vision.

Founder Dick Amundson explains how Tentmakers benefits from Envision:

“It was a pleasure to work with Ed and Liz. Ed helped us get a vision for the economic value we could provide to the marketplace. Liz did a lot of work with us on integrating work and worship as one. They helped us change how we promote our programs, emphasizing not what you do but how you do it. We knew all this, but Envision helped us get more clarity. They have high integrity, were strong on setting and meeting goals, and kept us on course. I will be knocking on Liz’s door again soon.”

BRAND MDNA

Tentmakers’ MDNA is Intuitive Ecosystems through Scalable Systems. They are driven by relationships, have a vision of personal fulfillment for the individuals they serve, and strive to create a customized ecosystem. Tentmakers also aspires to become a worldwide movement. This MDNA helped us build the brand around the word “tentmaker” in the biblical sense: to work in a way that honors God, impacts the local economy, allows believers to be generous and provides opportunities to preach the gospel.
